The Food Supplement Program (FSP), Maryland’s name for SNAP, assists low-income Maryland households in purchasing the food they require for a nutritious diet.

Benefits are issued electronically on a card that, like a debit card, can be used to purchase qualified food at local grocery stores or anywhere EBT is accepted. The EBT card is known as the “Independence Card” in Maryland.

How do I apply for food stamps in Maryland?
